What is Maverique?

Maverique was founded by marginalized community members for the purpose of creating a supportive space for marginalized community members. Our mission is to celebrate the uniqueness within humanity through education on specialized topics and mental health support for marginalized groups.

Our practice specializes in supporting humans through the therapeutic process that is collaborative, anti-oppressive, queer inclusive, trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and anti-ableist approach. Maverique and all of it's staff, board, and volunteers are dedicated to social justice through advocacy, activism, and agitation.

Vision

We believe in the innate ability of each human being to recover from the effects of trauma. We center the needs of LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, people of the global majority, survivors of trauma, and individuals with physical and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities, while striving to provide accessible, quality mental health services to marginalized and under served populations.

We advocate for and empower those who have been stigmatized, erased, marginalized, oppressed, silenced, and under served. We are life-long learners who practice with compassion, cultural humility, applying the highest ethical standards, and using approaches that honor and affirm each individual in their unique history and needs.

We envision growth through collaboration with other healthcare professionals and organizations devoted to our mission. We imagine and work toward building a community of mental health professionals that celebrates and thrives on inclusion, intersectionality, and belonging.

Our Philosophy

Maverique Therapeutic Services believes in taking action in order to decolonize therapy, combat racism, dismantle oppression, eliminate ableism, eradicate gender based violence, call out microaggressions, and obliterate Queer and Trans hate.

Maverique Therapeutic Services aspires for accessible and inclusive sexuality education for all, creating spaces where those with lived experience are treated as the expert they are, and safety becomes celebrated as a human right. We strive for a world where no identity or community is forced into marginalization. There's room for everyone in this world. Will you make room with us for everyone?
